Welcome to Spoveliana – my new blog about an active and adventurous lifestyle. My name is Nanni and I love to combine different kind of sports with travelling, setting new challenges and I love the surfer lifestyle at the beach. This is why my blog is named Spoveliana – a combination of sports, travel and my favorite Disney movie Vaiana. Guess why it is my favorite? Because it is about a little girl who loves the beach – surprise, surprise!
Well, I am not that little anymore. I am at the beginning of my thirties and living in the beautiful city of Hamburg in Northern Germany. For me, it is the best place to live. It takes around 1.5 hours by car to get to my favorite beach in SPO (another reason for the name SPOveliana 🙂 ). You have to know, though, that for a girl from Hamburg 15°C (or 60°F) is equal to a warm summer day and „let’s go to the beach“ means „bring your wetsuit“!
Therefore, I need some vacation now and then to be reminded of the warmth that sunshine brings to your skin and that the sky can have various shades of blue instead of grey and that it is not normal in the rest of the world, that the rain comes from the side or – even worse – from the ground (on very bad days). I am lucky enough to live in a country with an extraordinary high number of leave days and I spent all of them (and all my money) on travelling and celebrating adventures.
But not all adventures require travelling. My biggest adventure coming is the Hamburg Marathon on April 28th. After having signed up already for 4 marathons in the last 3 years without actually participating, this is now my last try to finally cross the finish line. I have completely changed my mindset and my training approach, so finding out if this works out is my next big adventure. And who knows, if it is going well, one of my next travel destinations could be one of the big Marathons on this world.
So, let me take you on the journey.
